“Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 6:1
Jesus clearly stated that He wouldn’t reward those who make a song of their generosity. Yes, our giving should be in secret. We should never give with an intention of gaining praise from men.
Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. – Matthew 6:4
Each time we do something for somebody with purity and truthfulness – without an air of self-conceitedness, God stores a reward for us in heaven.
