How to flee the devil – By answering him through the word of God. – Matthew 4:1-11
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ – 4
Jesus answered him, “It is also written, ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’ – 7
Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’ – 10
Then the devil left Him, and angels came and attended Him.
In our case, devil is our ‘negative thoughts’ that keep hovering around us and we tend to succumb to them. Instead, we should answer them through the word of God, which has all the answers. We can’t be quiet. We need to answer back just like Jesus did.
